    Director of Case Management

    Worcester, Massachusetts Permanent Day Shift

    The Opportunity

A director-level seat with this scope does not surface quietly, and the right candidate will recognize it immediately. This is a full-ownership role — operational leadership of an entire Case Management department inside a major acute care hospital in central Massachusetts. Utilization management, denial prevention, revenue cycle integrity, physician engagement, and patient throughput all fall under your authority. If you have spent your career building toward exactly this kind of impact, this position is worth a serious conversation.

This is a full-time, permanent placement with one opening currently available. Standard schedule, no overtime required. The position is on-site in Worcester, Massachusetts, with office space provided at the facility. Travel is not a requirement of the role.

The compensation package is competitive based on experience, and a sign-on bonus is negotiable for qualified candidates. Full benefits are included — health, dental, and the complete suite. Relocation assistance is available for the right person, and interview travel is reimbursed. Bonus eligibility is part of the package. The organization is stable, established, and operationally mature — this is not a turnaround situation. It is a department with infrastructure already in place and a leadership team that invests in its people.

Candidates must hold an active RN license or LCSW/LMSW for the state of Massachusetts, along with a minimum of three years of acute care hospital case management or healthcare leadership experience. A bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare Administration is required for the RN path; a Master's in Social Work is the baseline for the MSW path. Preferred candidates will bring five or more years of acute case management leadership, multi-site experience, and advanced credentials — MSN, MBA, MSW, MHA, or Accredited Case Manager (ACM) certification. No visa sponsorship. No security clearance required.

These director-level positions receive significant recruiter attention and move fast once the right candidate is identified. If the qualifications match, the conversation is straightforward — reply directly, send a current resume, or book a confidential call. Response time is same day.

    Why Worcester?

Worcester sits at the center of New England — literally and figuratively. New England's second-largest city, it has spent the last decade building into something that feels increasingly intentional: a real urban core with walkable neighborhoods, a food and arts scene that punches above its weight, and a cost of living that makes the region's salary potential genuinely meaningful. Housing here is a fraction of what it costs in Boston, and the quality of life that comes with that gap is hard to overstate. You are thirty to forty-five minutes from Boston, from Providence, and from the Berkshires — close enough to everything, removed enough to breathe.

Families tend to root here. The public schools range from solid to exceptional depending on the neighborhood, and the surrounding suburbs — Shrewsbury, Holden, Northborough — are consistently ranked among the best places to raise children in the Commonwealth. Outdoor access is real: Wachusett Mountain for skiing in winter, Quabbin Reservoir trails for three other seasons, and the entire New England coast within an hour and a half. The region carries a deeply ingrained sense of community — people who move to Worcester for a career tend to stay because they built a life. For someone looking to plant roots alongside a serious career move, this is a city that delivers on both.
