    Case Manager RN

    Tallahassee, Florida Permanent Day Shift

    The Opportunity

Acute care case management at a high-volume inpatient facility is not for the timid — and if you have been doing it well, you know the difference between a role that uses your skills and one that actually challenges them. This is the latter. A large regional acute care system in Tallahassee, Florida has two permanent Case Manager RN openings for clinicians who lead with clinical rigor, drive interdisciplinary collaboration without being asked, and see discharge planning as a discipline rather than a checkbox.

Two shifts are available and both are permanent. Days run 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with one weekend per four-week rotation. Evening options are either 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends as needed. These are straight permanent placements — no travel, no contract ambiguity, no agency gaps.

The benefits package here is one of the stronger ones in the market. The 401(k) carries a 100% employer match on 3% to 9% of pay, scaled to years of service. Education assistance covers tuition, student loans, and certification costs. Medical coverage is comprehensive and includes telemedicine and AirMed emergency transport at no additional cost. Add in an employee stock purchase plan, fertility and family building benefits through Progyny, a colleague referral program, and paid family leave, and you have a total compensation picture that holds up to scrutiny. Salary is competitive and based on experience. Relocation assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis.

A minimum of three years of recent acute care case management experience is required — and recent means within the last year. The hiring team will also consider candidates with three or more years of current bedside experience in Med/Surg, Tele, Neuro, ICU, PCU, or ED who are ready to move into case management. Candidates from home health or insurance case management backgrounds will be considered if they hold at least three years of total acute care experience and at least one year within the last five. An RN license is required; current Florida licensure or an active compact license is acceptable, though Florida RN licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire if on compact. An ADN or Diploma in Nursing meets the minimum education requirement. BSN is preferred. Certification in Case Management (CCM) or Utilization Review is preferred but not required to be considered.

Two seats, a strong system, and a market that is actively short on qualified case managers — that combination does not sit open long. If your credentials are current and your case management experience is real, reach out now. Apply directly or schedule a confidential call and we can walk through the full details in under ten minutes.

Zero Florida state income tax — every paycheck goes further

    Why Tallahassee?

Tallahassee tends to get underestimated. Most people file it under state capital, government town and move on without looking closer — which is exactly why so many people who move here are surprised by what they find. The city sits in the rolling hills of North Florida, draped in Spanish moss and lined with canopy roads that make it look nothing like the rest of the state. It has the energy of a college town without the sprawl of a metro, anchored by two major universities that bring a consistent cultural pulse — live music, food from every corner of the world, independent restaurants that actually compete on quality, and a downtown that has invested heavily in walkability over the past decade.

The outdoor access here is legitimate. Wakulla Springs State Park, the Apalachicola National Forest, and miles of hiking and biking trails sit within easy reach of most neighborhoods. The Gulf Coast — some of the clearest, most unspoiled water in Florida — is right around an hour south. Families tend to stay because the school system in Leon County consistently ranks among the stronger public school districts in the state, and the cost of living is substantially lower than coastal Florida markets like Tampa or Jacksonville. Florida's no-income-tax structure means every dollar of your paycheck goes further here than in most comparable cities in other states. For clinicians thinking about where to plant roots, build equity, and actually enjoy the place they live in — Tallahassee belongs in that conversation.
